On January 27th A Dog's Purpose will be released to the public. Based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron, A Dog’s Purpose, from director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The 100-Foot Journey), shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love. The family film told from the dog’s perspective also stars Britt Robertson, KJ Apa, John Ortiz, Juliet Rylance, Luke Kirby, Peggy Lipton, Pooch Hall and Dennis Quaid.
A Dog’s Purpose is produced by Gavin Polone (Zombieland, TV’s Gilmore Girls). The film from Amblin Entertainment and Walden Media is executive produced by Alan Blomquist, Mark Sourian and Lauren Pfeiffer, and it will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
A behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the movie reveals a terrified German Shepherd over the course of several minutes being forced into a body of water to create a drowning scene. The animal is clearly terrified and cries many times to escape the situation only to be thrown into the water!!!!!!
A Dog's Purpose is not entertainment in a world where we have CGI and movies like Avatar there is no excuse for this kind of behavior in the industry!!!! For many years animals have been hurt abused maimed and in general mistreated in the name of entertainment especially and most notably in the film industry. We all quit our conferences when we see that little sign no animals were harmed in the making of This film..
Animals are sentient beings and capable of mental and emotional torture and pain. This animal was clearly terrorized and forced into the water, a situation that would be traumatic for any human being let alone an animal without the ability to comprehend what is happening to it.
By signing this petition my hope is to raise awareness about cruelty to animals in the film industry. By signing this petition you will show your support for the ethical treatment of animals. Hollywood needs to know that people care about these animals even if we never meet them.
A Dog's Purpose was blatantly abused for the sake of this film. Let's stand together and tell Hollywood what we think.
